Winter is nearly here in Rangeley, and with the cold weather upon us, we can’t wait to welcome back our many returning guests, along with even more families for the first time. There’s something uniquely magical about Rangeley in the winter, and a large part of that is in the comradery and togetherness that comes with staying warm in many of our great restaurants and pubs. We wanted to highlight some of our favorite establishments in the area, so you can plan a nice evening of food, drink and warmth, even if the weather outside is frightful! 

For a delicious brewpub with some of the best pizza in Rangeley, pay a visit to The Furbish Brew House & Eats! The Furbish specializes in everything from local Maine lobster rolls to surf and turf platters, and they’re all delicious. But, the star of the show at The Furbish is their famous wood-fired pizza, with numerous varieties and toppings to satisfy pizza lovers of all palettes. Even better, it’s located centrally on Main Street, so you can always reach them easily, no matter the weather conditions. 

For even more delicious food on Main Street, stop into The Corner Bar, opening for the season on December 6th. With a diverse drink menu, a full selection of tapas and local flavor, and a perfect location for spending time with your group or with other locals, The Corner Bar offers delicious food for those cold winter days. 

In the mood for some of Maine’s best New American cuisine with a historic flair? Look no further than the historic Loon Lodge Inn! The dining room at Loon Lodge offers a rotating menu of New American Cuisine in a casual, intimate rustic setting. With beautiful views from the dining room and historic accents inside and out, this is sure to provide a wonderfully ambient and delicious dinner. If pub food and drinks are more to your taste, check out their Pickford Pub, where friends and family can relax with the spirit of an old-style bar.   

For one of our favorite restaurants just outside of Rangeley, take a scenic drive through the winter wonderland that is our area to Portage Tap House. This cozy brewpub-style restaurant offers some of the best seafood, craft beer and American cuisine in the area with a wonderful ambiance that will have you in the seasonal spirit. 

With the winter season comes sports of all kinds, from football to basketball and in 2022, the World Cup! Pay a visit to our area’s best sports bar, Sarge’s Sports Pub, and indulge in delicious pub food and drinks while you cheer on your favorite team! From classic burgers and appetizers to New England favorites like Lobster Rolls, Sarge’s offers all the fun of your local sports bar with the excellent food that the area is known for.
